Installing guest additionsīefore starting the sharting process, it is mandatory to install your so called virtualbox guest additions. In this tutorial, you will learn how to achieve this so that you will be able to access folders or files on your host computer from your Ubuntu virtualbox. Install the necessary packages: sudo apt-get install make gcc linux-headers-$(uname -r). I had to manually mount the CD: sudo mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom. Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD image. You have to mount your folder on your VM.įirst you need to install Guest Additions (although I already did this during the installation).
